Celebrations, celebrations! There are many events lined up, especially with you in mind!
New location, big significance
Top on our list will be the Tampines West National Day Dinner on 7 August 2010. You’ll get great value for your money because there’ll be a sit down nine-course dinner, live entertainment and a lucky draw. What’s more, we will be holding this dinner at the newly-opened campus of Tampines Primary and Secondary schools at Tampines St 12. This will be a significant moment for us because this is the first school campus which has been specially designed to be used by the community, outside school hours. It will be open to the public on weekdays from 7pm to 10pm and on weekends from 12pm to 10pm.

· Amphitheatre
Tampines West CC will also conduct courses in the classrooms on the ground floor. So come for the National Dinner and get a sneak peek of the nicely-landscaped school facilities available for your use.
YOG – A World First
Singapore will host the first-ever Youth Olympic Games (YOG) right after our National Day. Tampines is proud to be the venue of the mountain bike race event. I hope you will participate in this once in a lifetime event and watch the race right in our own backyard, at the Tampines Mountain Bike Park. You might just appear on TV, and not just the Singapore audience but also, for everyone around the world!
In fact, on 10 August 2010, Tampines is proud to participate in the YOG torch relay run near the Tampines MRT station at 6pm. You are welcome to witness this historic event!
Moonlit festival
There'll also be the Lantern Festival which will be celebrated by for the whole of Tampines GRC on 18 September 2010, in front of Tampines One. There’ll be something for everyone in the family and for photography enthusiasts, get set for an awesome aerial view because there’ll be a beautiful procession.
Landmark events
This year, Tampines will also mark the 50th anniversary of the People’s Association and the Housing and Development Board (HDB). So we've got many events for you to look forward to and you can be sure that Tampines is so much more, than just the place you live in!
