Dear residents,

New facilities

I hope that by now, you are aware that some

facilities in the newly refurbished premises of

Tampines Primary and Secondary schools, are

open to the public. There is an indoor sports

hall for you to play badminton or volleyball,

a black box theatre for you to watch drama

performances and even a fully-equipped gym.

You can make your bookings at Tampines West

Community Club (TWCC). Besides facilities, you

can also attend courses at the schools. These

too can be booked at TWCC. I hope you will

attend the courses and use the facilities well.

Improving your home

A big portion of the Lift Upgrading Programme (LUP) that began

two years ago, is in the final completion phase. You can expect

barrier-free access with the upgraded lifts and new lift shafts. The

entire programme will be completed in about two years.

I have also received positive feedback from residents who benefited from the Home Improvement Programme

(HIP) because their toilets have been refitted and ceilings repaired. These were done with as little inconvenience

as possible. This also means that we cannot roll the programme out as fast as we liked because the contractors

need to ensure that the works are completed one column of houses at a time. This is to ensure that work that

was started in one area gets completed before contractors start on another stack. Nevertheless, I would like to

assure flat owners who have qualified for HIP that we will nominate them for the upgrading schemes.

New MRT stations and Eco-trail

Tampines will continue to be re-made, both in your own home as well as its external surrounding, In fact, two new

MRT stations have been announced under the upcoming Downtown line. One station will be located right here in

our precinct, at the junction of Avenues 4 and 1! A new Eco-trail park is being constructed and you can enjoy this

early next year. On top of these, the Youth Olympic Games has left us with a world-class dirt bike trail!

Benefits of living in Tampines

And this will not be all. Already, various agencies like the Town Council, HDB, NParks and LTA are working out

how to continue making improvements to the homes and facilities in Tampines. This will increase the values of our

home in Tampines, even as the estate matures. Watch out for more good news. We will make sure that Tampines

remains, our best home!
